full moon in taurus- 11/2/09 at 11:14am PST
the next full moon falls in the sign of taurus on monday november 2nd at 11:14am PST. this full moon is called the beaver full moon in colonial american terminology, the snow moon in english medieval, and my favorite- the dark moon in celtic :) it follows on the heels of samhain- which is celebrated from october 31st-november 1st and is the largest of the pagan holidays and is affiliated with the celtic tradition. this holiday is the time when the veil between the worlds is thinnest- and also marks the time when the lighter half of the year ends and the darker half commences (in the northern hemisphere that is, in the southern it is reversed). this full moon falls right around this potent time and we can see the potency in the full moon chart for sure! this full moon is powerfully activated and likely is being felt by sensitive souls around the world as it moves to exactness on monday morning.

jupiter in aquarius is also square this full moon, albeit widely (it is 7 degrees away from exact). jupiter expands whatever he touches and in a tense aspect he can overdo things. jupiter is opposing mars in leo and squaring the sun/moon opposition- creating something called a grand cross. jupiter amplifies mar's dominating masculine energies in ways that can be excessive and detrimental. jupiter's square to the sun/moon opposition also exacerbates the intensity of this moon and it's ability to go deep beneath the surface of things. being aware of overdoing it is important. ideally we channel jupiter's wisdom but put some restraint on his excessiveness.
uranus in pisces also factors into this full moon chart with a sesquiquadrate to the sun in scorpio and semisquare to the moon in taurus. uranus is the great awakener and in pisces he is waking up the collective to the unconscious, to the spirit realms, and to the Divine. dreams during this full moon should be paid attention to as they can be quite illuminating and symbolic of that which is lying beneath the surface of consciousness in the individual psyche as well as the collective psyche. the emotion, intensity, and perception available at this full moon can seem to get activated out of nowhere- as uranus has the reputation of doing things in a sudden, out-of-the-blue manner. scorpio's desire for depth and taurus' desire for beauty can be electrified by uranus. watch out for unsettling surprises. if you can learn to be in the flow of the oceanic consciousness with no need for control a la the pisces energy what is activated/realized/experienced will be less jolting and possibly even enlightening.

weekly astrology blog for 11/2-11/8
monday november 2nd-
the moon is in sensual, earthy, stubborn taurus all day long. taurus moons are times to indulge the senses and get fully into the body. a focus on security and the material, physical world is taurus' interest. be aware of the shadow side of taurus- stubborn fixedness, a need for things to be practical/rational in order for them to be True, and overindulgence that leads to gluttony.
the day starts off with venus in libra quincunx to uranus in pisces, occurring at 3:12am PST. the goddess of love and beauty is in her home sign and as such is attuned, even more, to relationship, aesthetic and balance. uranus likes to upset balance and is more interested in freedom and independence, yet in pisces he is also attuned to unconditional love. uranus in pisces desires freedom to love from the heart but also retain his sense of Self and separateness. uranus activating venus can bring up relationship experiences that mirror back to us where we stand on the continuum of freedom and relationship. if not enough space is being found in your togetherness then you may experience this aspect as jolting and unstable in your partnerships. if there is not enough connecting in your independence then you can find yourself suddenly very attracted to someone- activating your need to open yourself up. this can also be experienced in our relationship to the Divine Feminine within. shaking things up and waking us up is uranus' prime directive. pay attention to your dreams for symbolism and communication from the unconscious.

at 11:48am mercury scorpio parallels neptune in aquarius, infusing the conscious mind and intellect with the ethereal, spiritual, mystical sensitivity of neptune. a parallel is similar to a conjunction only it is by declination. the two aligned together create an opening for intuition, psychic awareness, and communication from the unconscious to permeate our rational, pragmatic minds. be aware of the shadow side of neptune's effect- illusion, delusion and deception. it is easier to trick yourself into seeing what you want to see when neptune is involved. pay attention to all conversation and communication had today- it has the potential to be enlightening!
later in the afternoon mars in leo sesquiquadrates uranus in pisces at 2:48pm, pitting the conscious will and drive against the great awakener. mars in leo is the hero warrior who leads but also has a hard time following. leo is the sign of the ego and with mars there we can be overly identified with our egos. uranus in pisces is attuned to the collective unconscious and likes to jolt and dissolve the ego. the two together in tense aspect can create some interesting dynamics between egos, with men, and with the Divine Masculine within. watch for impulsivity and narcissism. detach from the need to be right and be the leader. lead when it is called of you and allow others to lead when it is their time as well. the best use of this energy is to infuse the ego with a new expansive awareness of Oneness. learning to retain the sense of self while still being open to the Self is key.
not even an hour later venus in libra trines neptune in aquarius, at 3:21pm, aligning the goddess of love and beauty with the god of spirituality, mysticism and enlightenment. venus/neptune aspects make for idyllic love experiences that are uber-romantic and otherworldly. since this is a trine there is less chance it will manifest as shadow- with illusion, delusion and deception in love occurring. but there still needs to be a dose of realism in any experience of love and beauty! seeing what you want to see can also be viewed as seeing the heart of another. as long as one is attuned to what is as well as what can be then a balance can be found. this is a great aspect for spiritual, romantic experiences as well as for realizing the Divine Feminine within in profound new ways. this is also great for creativity and artistic self-expression :)
the day ends with venus in libra square to the north node in capricorn and the south node in cancer at 8:20pm. the goddess of love and beauty is in one of the two signs she rules (the other being taurus). she is attuned to relationship, love, beauty, connection, and balance. in tense aspect to the nodes of destiny and karma we have the potential to re-enact karmic connections and either get stuck in the past or move beyond our conditioning to new territory. the north node in capricorn asks that we take responsibility for ourselves, be our own archetypal Father, and provide our own sense of security. the south node in cancer asks that we move away from our need for someone else to take care of us, our involvement in codependent relationships, and our inability to deal with our emotions in healthy ways. where ever we are on our soul's journey our love relationship will reflect that- both those with outer others as well as the one we have with the inner Other. our relationship to the Divine Feminine is highlighted by this aspect as well. integrating our own masculine and feminine, father and mother, is key. experiences had today reflect back to us where we are at and where we still need to grow towards.

the day starts off with the moon in embodied, luxurious taurus and goes void of course at 10:05am. 11 hours later, at 8:53pm, the moon shifts into cerebral, inquisitive gemini. from midmorning till late evening we are in a moon void which is similar to the dark of the moon. it is a time to go within, focus on the inner levels of experience, and center yourself. the shift from taurus to gemini is from earth to air, body to mind, feminine to androgynous. gemini moons are times for communication, connection and intellectual stimulation. speaking, writing, and teaching are all highlighted. be aware of the shadow side of gemini- superficiality, an inability commit, and fear of the depths.
